It seems I won a competition!

May has brought me such good luck. I never win anything. Unless you count winning a teddy bear at a jubilee fete or the odd bottle of cinzano bianco on a tombola! (Who really drinks that stuff anyway 🍸? I apologise if it's you - I've just never met you...)
So. I entered a competition ran by @cooksongold who supply most of us jewellers with metal and lots of delightful tools. Every month they announce a theme and folk send in pictures of their jewellery that fit the theme. It's worth checking it out. I've seen some incredible creations that I could only dream of making.
Last month the theme was Geeky creations. We all have our inner geek from time to time. Mine emerged when I was lucky enough to visit CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research) in Geneva earlier in the year. Home of the discovery of the Higgs Bosun particle amongst other clever stuff - CERN is free to visit and with really simple explanations from CERN staff it's great fun. Honestly it is.
After my trip I got thinking about particles and then molecules. I can't claim a great level of understanding but the shapes and what they do just appeal to me.
So I've been creating silver molecules, set with gemstones to give them a bit of added glam. My first was an adrenalin molecule , set with a Swiss blue topaz as a nod to my trip and my inner geek. Well, the judges liked it and the rest is history. There will even be a profile of me and my business on social media soon. Exciting - despite the fact I don't really like my photograph taken.
Here is a photo of the winning piece - there is also serotonin, caffeine and dopamine...if you need your own molecule, you know where to find me!
